Logistics Assistant-Laboratory (Reference number: LB004)

2.Who we would like to join our Team

We are looking for a passionate and commitment Logistics Assistant to join the Talbot Team at our Pietermaritzburg Laboratory where you will support various functions within this section.

3.Primary Responsibilities
  • Managing the subcontracting WIP on LIMS
  • Preparing COCs to accompany samples and pack appropriately for shipment
  • Preparing waybills to subcontracted laboratories
  • Assist in following up on subcontracted tests and submission of results to Technical
  • Subcontracting/Kit preparation & other logistics duties
  • Sample preparation (filtering, acidifying etc) where time permits
  • Support the logistics team with stock counts
  • Manage the cooler box rotation system
  • Manage the container stock procedure and control maintenance
  • Assist the team with any other tasks required

Management/ Administrative:

  • Maintain solid relationships with your colleagues and client.
  • General housekeeping.
  • Adhere to the laboratory Health & Safety requirements.
  • Always wear the appropriate PPE whilst in the laboratory.
  • In addition to the above, any reasonable task assigned by the line manager
4.What Qualifications and experience do you need to bring to the Team
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Analytical Chemistry/BSc Chemistry or Micro or equivalent
  • 1 year Laboratory experience
  • Computer skills, (MS-Office including Excel, Word and Outlook)
