Human Resources Administrator

Summary of Role

Talbot  is a South Africa water solutions advisor and turnkey project implementation company with an international client base servicing the African market and beyond. We are looking for a Human Recourses Administrator to join the business to support the Company’s human resources portfolio.


How you will contribute
  • Support in human resources administrative tasks
  • Collates annual SETA reporting
  • Facilitates and makes necessary arrangements for staff training both internal and external
  • Populates staff training matrices
  • Collates and manages all study agreements/ bursaries for staff
  • Manages all HR purchase orders and facilitates payment to HR suppliers including monthly payments to creditors
  • Ensures effective distribution and management of HR related information to staff ensuring traceability
  • Monthly collation and accurate capturing of all payroll input information
  • Collates all documentation for BBBEE verifications and Employment Equity statistics for annual reporting
  • Takes accurate minutes in Employment Equity (EE) meetings and ensures effective distribution of action points. Follows up and provides HR support to the H&S committee
  • Manages Health and Safety issues and ensures all Injured on duty (IOD’s) are managed in accordance with COIDA
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs


Your technical Skills
  • Degree in Human Resources preferably Industrial and Organisational Psychology
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources environment
  • Sound previous generalist experience of HR administration and collation of data for statutory HR reporting
  • Understanding of statutory reporting needs for a Company – Employment Equity, Basic Conditions of the Employment Act
  • Good verbal, written and numeracy skills
  • Excellent organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively
  • Strong IT skills, skilled in using Microsoft Word and Excel packages and experience in working with Human Resources packages /databases would be an advantage
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to deal with colleagues at all levels
  • Able to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
  • Effective communication skills, in order to deal tactfully and sensitively with people at all levels
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to operate within tight deadlines and manage a number of work activities at any one time
