Water Risk & Strategy

Expertise Overview

Water Risk and Strategy (WRS) provides strategic water risk advice primarily to industrial clients. WRS services include advising on exposure to water risk and well as the implications of climate change, increased water demand and reduced water supply, and infrastructure failure along with the associated implications on security of supply for significant water users.

The water strategies developed by WRS are tailored to each client’s requirements, founded on a constant set of principles. These include:

  • Reducing the impact of internal and supply chain water supply issues in operations
  • Optimising water and waste water related OPEX and CAPEX spend across the organisation
  • Managing stakeholder requirements and ensuring legal compliance
  • Ensuring water management is aligned with the strategic business plan

Developing a water strategy is a multi-phase process which interrogates onsite water management as well as broader regional drivers, including regulatory, financial, water supply and stakeholder pressures. All of which are evaluated within context in order to inform strategy.

Strategies are accompanied by a step-by-step plan, ensuring seamless implementation. The level of support provided by WRS during the implementation phase is defined by the client’s requirements and can range from full project management to technical support.
